This morning I came across an article written by Rachael Marie Martin called 20 Things I will Not Regret Doing with My Kids. It resonated perfectly with me because while for the most part, I take pride in the fact that I do make the most of my time with my daughter by talking with her, holding her, listening to her stories, this article made me do a self assessment and realize, I can always do more. So for the next while until she went down for her nap, we cuddled on the couch and chatted about stories, sang a few songs and held hands. It was just what I needed and I think she was feeling pretty cozy too.
If there is one thing I am slowly coming to accept is that our kiddies are only tiny for so long. My daughter turned 3 last week and it seems like only a blink ago that I was holding her for the first time. I feel proud of all the memories we have shared and the moments we have spent together. But I also understand that there will come a day when she will be less interested in hanging out and snuggling with her Mommy on a Saturday morning so for now, I am going to capitalize on those moments whenever I can.
